In 1955 Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said, "We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience." I love this quote and I know it's true. Many of us forget, or don't even realize, that we are spiritual beings. This human life is an experience for our spirits to come to earth, learn to become good people and then return home to that God that created us.
Because we are spiritual beings, we have a duty to take care of and nurture our spirits. Just as we feed and care for our bodies, our spirits also yearn to be fed. The question is, what do we feed our spirits? The food we eat comes from the earth in which we live in. So wouldn't you think the our spirits must be fed with nutrients from the place they came from, which is heaven?
I know that by feeding our spirits with heavenly things and taking the time to commune with God and to seek after spiritual things, we will be happier and feel more at peace in our lives. It's simple. Take care of your spirit. Honor your spirit. When you feel a craving deep in your soul for something more, perhaps it's time to realize that it's your spirit crying out to you, asking you to give it the food it so desperately needs.
In the New Testament in John 6:35 Jesus says, "I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst." When you hunger to know the purpose of life, to understand who you are and why you are here, recognize that it is your spirit hungering to be nurtured. The best way to satisfy that hunger is to come to Jesus, to kneel at His feet and to learn from Him who we really are and why we are even here. I promise that as you do come unto Jesus your soul will be filled to overflowing and you will find the greater joy and peace than you ever thought possible.
This website is dedicated to each of you spiritual beings that want to make the most of this human experience. Visit often to find inspiration and to learn more about what you can do to take care of your spirit and to feel the love of God. I look forward to go on this journey with you.
